Design and experimental investigation of deep beams based on the Generative Tie Method

چکیده
The high level of shear stress present in reinforced concrete deep beams has been the subject interest for a considerable number studies due to uncertainties involved. Several structural codes and standards around world have recommended using strut-and-tie method (STM) design such elements. STM is proven efficient accurate, however, successful application relies decisively on skills designer conceive truss-like models. In this paper, framework named Generative Tie Method (GTM) proposed as an alternative approach overcome some limitations available methods beams. GTM uses performance ratios obtained from finite element analysis (FEA) decision-making criteria reinforcement layout members. FEA strategy used based elastic–plastic fields. compressive strength loss ratio modified compression-field theory. A large-scale experimental investigation digital image correlation technique was carried out four designed by method. suitable presented specimens demonstrated that promising even under unusual requirements.
